Being born in the 1970's this type of weaving was prevalent. It may have been in shades of brown and had more rope, but this type of weaving is becoming more and more popular, and its such fun to make.

I set out to try and make a weave that had some texture ,and the above picture is what I produced.

I started practicing a twisted header which is the,

1st row White first row in picture 2.

2nd Soumak technique rope like twist

3rd Double Soumak.

4th Plain tabby weave

9th . String pompoms

10th Loop weaving

11th Hopsack

17th Loop weaving

18th Plain weave

22nd Rya Knots

These techniques I learnt from a few books but particularly Modern Weaving by Laura Strutt

Great little book .
