Direct Dyeing Weave

Today I wove some cloth for dying.

I decided to use a mixture of natural and made made fibres which means you can choose which type of yarn to dye allowing the other to stay the original colour.

I wove with cotton and polyester yarn and chose to dye the cotton yarn using direct dyes.

I made 2 dye baths one in blue and one in orange. I dyed one half first then rinsed and then dyed the other half.

The result was pleasing the colours bled into one another making a bottle green colour in the middle.
